Creeping Red Veins
Original Abstract Watercolour Painting
9 x 12 inches
Some paintings you choose to paint. Other paintings choose to be born through you. This is one of the latter.
The only thing I chose was the colour, and as I sat, clearing my mind, grounding down deep into the earth, the line took on a shape of their own, directing the paintbrush, as if I was little more than a puppet taking directions.
For me, I see deep roots, I see how the mycelium network feels, I see veins that run beneath the skin. Nature has a way of repeating patterns, shapes, movements, flows. We see the same patterns repeating on a microscopic scale, large scale, and sometimes even so big that it can be seen from galaxies away.
While I know what I see when I look at this painting, the true beauty of abstract is that it can represent so many other things.
So what do you see?
